Pre Production- Logistical elements

Image
Before starting the production phase, i needed to fill out consent forms to make to negotiate with the people of the property a deal so i could film in their facilities. This was to make sure i was getting any sorts of legal permissions and requirements before filming. I also created risk assessment forms to ensure i was outlining any sort of risks that could potentially happen during production even if they were highly likely going to happen and would rarely be an issue. I then outlined the likelihood of these risks happening to make sure i could identify what things might happen. Then these risks could be stopped i would mention anyway i could try to prevent them from happening. I created a contributors release form to make the owners of the land aware that i would have full permission to collaborate with them and film in their property. by signing this they have give me full permission to film footage inside their facility for use in y documentary. Project Rationale

I then created a Pitch power point presentation in order to present briefly show the audience what the brief is, my opinions and thoughts on the brief. I then talk about my ideas and explain my final chosen idea by explaining what i want my documentary to be about and how i am going to present it such as what shots i will use, what codes and conventions i will use. This will help paint a picture to the audience on how this documentary will look like. The point of doing the pitch is to get my audiences opinion on the pitch to see if they like it or not or if they think there is anything i could add or change to my idea in order to make it look better. At the end of the day, if they don't like my idea then my audience wont like my documentary so its important to know if my target audience like it. I first start the first 2 slides off by introducing to the audience who the client is and what the brief is and what we have been asked to do. This is so they know what i will ...

Investigation and analysis- (Audience Research)

Image
Researching into the Audience  I created a shot survey to ask people in my target audience some questions on what they think about documentaries. This is so i could get more information on what my audience do and or don't like about documentaries. This would let me develop my audience research as i could find out what they would want to see in my documentary. This help the documentary i make fit my audiences needs as it includes the things they want to see. I asked them 6 questions. They were: 1) Have you watched a documentary before? 2) What are your hobbies/interests? 3)What type of documentaries do you like to watch? 4)What interests you most when watching a documentary? 5)What makes you feel bored when watching a documentary? 6)What would you like to see most in a documentary? 1) I asked my audience if they have watched a documentary as I wanted to know what sort of things they knew about documentaries so I could do some follow up questions about what documentaries they have se...
